Demand still stronger than supply

The quieter period is now upon us in Central Oxford.

On a Monday morning recently our letting team cried “we only have 4 available flats to rent in Oxford on our letting list!”.  By the end of that week we had let 5 properties. As soon as we list a good property it is flying off the books! Demand is stronger than supply at the moment.

Keeping in touch with landlords of properties that went onto the sales market a few months ago has resulted in those properties recently being relisted to let again, due to “failed sales”.

The property above did not find buyers so we marketed it to let. We secured new tenants immediately, along with a 15% increase in rent on the previous tenancy!

New legislation ahead: compulsory insulation

A story appears today in the Telegraph stating that Chris Huhne is going to pass legislation to make it compulsory for landlords to pay to install insulation in their properties.

A happy ending


We successfully let a 5 bedroom house in Tackley this week which had been fire damaged earlier in the year. We have been liaising with the loss adjusters, builders and insurance company on behalf of our landlord, who lives in South Africa, to make sure the house is ready for the new tenancy.
