Lost in a compliance fog?

Lost in a compliance fog?

Did you know that there are around 145 laws, and over 400 regulations that need to be followed to legally let a property in England1? Did you also know that, at present, anyone can operate as a letting agency without any qualifications or professional oversight?

Although the Government has recently proposed that property agents should be regulated (with mandatory qualifications and a code of practice), this is not currently a requirement. The risk of using an unregulated agent is that you could inadvertently let a non-compliant property which would leave you exposed to the risk of large fines and potential prison sentences. Whether you are a professional landlord or an accidental one the same laws and regulations apply, so it is vital that you ensure you are compliant or you may find yourself in a vulnerable position should anything go wrong.

Our choice to qualify
Since 2008 we have enthusiastically invested in the ARLA Propertymark Qualifications Technical Award in Residential Letting and Property Management in order to equip our people with our industry’s qualification, knowledge and confidence. Our commitment to high standards has resulted in the vast majority of our customer-facing staff holding either the Level 3 or Level 4 qualification. This keeps them up to date with complex legislative changes and enables them to guide our landlords through the process of letting out a property, ensuring they are fully compliant and offering protection and true peace of mind.

Letting a property legally is vital, but can be complicated. Our team and our processes mean that we will ensure your property is let safely. You need an agent you can trust and rely on when issues arise. Finders Keepers offers a professional, qualified service to ensure your protection. 01865 302302.
