The Father Christmas of Trees
At Finders Keepers we are always keen to support our local communities whether that is through promoting local school fairs, getting involved in charity fundraising or organising our own events. During the Christmas period we thought it would be nice to donate something festive, so Sarah Carroll, Deputy Office Manager of our Central Oxford office contacted local schools to ask whether they would like any help with their Christmas activities.
Sarah had the idea of offering New Hinksey Primary School a Christmas tree, which was gratefully received and we are also selling raffle tickets for their Christmas bazaar (pop to our Park End Street office to buy yours!). Spurred on by this, she contacted Botley Primary School who were also pleased with the offer of a Christmas tree. Word spread to our Summertown office and they have also donated trees to St Aloysius and Wolvercote Primary Schools.
Our very own ‘Father Treemas’, Tony Herman (photo) has always bought our trees from the Sea Cadets on Donnington Bridge Road. For more than 40 years the cadets have been selling trees throughout the festive period in order to raise money for the charity. This fundraising is vital for them to continue sending their cadets on courses to learn new skills.
