Under the skin of the letting market

Here we share news and views on both the local letting market in & around Oxfordshire and all planned and recent legislation.

Charity of the Year 2015

British Heart Foundation

We are delighted to announce that our Charity of the Year 2015 is the British Heart Foundation, as voted for by the Finders Keepers team.

We run our Charity of the Year every alternate year in order for the fundraising to be as effective as possible (so that we are not constantly asking our clients for donations and sponsorship). Any staff member can nominate a charity of their choice and then a shortlist is put out to the vote among all staff. It has been 10 years since a member of the Finders Keepers team passed away and so many staff voted for the British Heart Foundation in his memory.

Since the British Heart Foundation (BHF) was established in 1961 they have made some astonishing developments with the help of organisations across the UK. Heart disease
touches us all and actually kills more people in the UK than any other disease.

Some amazing advancements have been made over the last 50+ years, from pacemakers
and transplants to genetic disorders that can cause heart defects, researchers work
tirelessly to ensure that the breakthroughs continue to happen. But it’s not just research,
the British Heart Foundation also helps to provide medical equipment – including defibrillators in the community which is particularly important in more rural areas, where an ambulance might take too long to reach the patient.

DECHOX: Giving up chocolate for March

Team members have already started putting their fundraising heads together and are already involved in the much talked about ‘DECHOX’ where chocoholics abstain from the delicious treat for all of March. We’ve made a great start on the fundraising, but would love to raise even more, click here to sponsor us!

Charity cycle

Additionally the Finders Keepers fitness fanatics are taking on another cycle challenge. In 2013 a group of hardcore team members cycled from Cheltenham to Oxford for that year’s Charity of the Year and plans are being made this year to take Team FK on another ‘Tour de UK’. Another group have committed to taking part in the Blenheim 5k or 10k run in October, as well as people offering to help the support team.

Throughout the year we will hold bake sales, help out in the British Heart Foundation shops across the county and we will even host our own car wash later in the year!

We look forward to raising as much money as possible for this very worthy cause and we appreciate any support you can give us.
