Under the skin of the letting market

Here we share news and views on both the local letting market in & around Oxfordshire and all planned and recent legislation.

New year, New Resolutions

After an indulgent 2012 supporting the charity cake sales, the East Oxford office have put the cakes aside and are fitness focused.

Carol Tidy Stevens, Senior Letting Manager, starts her day with 20 lengths and is already noticeably more motivated. Letting Manager’s Lucy Worthington and Rose Loy have taken up a spinning class twice a week and Anna Turner, our Letting Department Manager, winds down after a busy Monday with a Zumba class. Property Manager Gary Thorne has also taken a leaf out of the Letting book by joining the local gym.

This increased sense of drive and motivation has rubbed off onto the teams letting performance. The team have already let 10 properties this month, including a 2 bedroom period conversion apartment near to Oxford Science Park (photo 1) and a traditional chalet style home in the popular village of Horspath (photo 2).

In addition, the office has gained instructions on 3 new properties:

  1. A brand new 3 bedroom family house in Headington, close to the John Radcliffe Hospital
  2. A roomy 1 bedroom apartment with a pretty garden in the centre of Headington opposite the famous “Shark”
  3. A charming 3 bedroom country cottage in Stadhampton with super countryside views

Since being instructed, the team have been exercising their letting abilities and the 3 bedroom cottage in Stadhampton has already been let.

The team have also started the year with 38 hours of training in various areas. As well as improving her fitness, Letting Manager Rose Loy has started the year with the first round of ARLA Propertymark qualification training.

With a demand for rental properties in Oxford on the increase, our East Oxford branch is predicting a demanding 2013. So what better way to tackle it than staying fit, focused and motivated to ensure a productive year ahead!
