Rose Loy tells the story how she came to work with us
It all started in February 2012. I was on my way to catch the train following a brief stop in St Clements. I had been visiting two old university friends. They now worked in Oxford and lived in a Finders Keepers property.
I hadn’t heard of Finders Keepers before, but walking to the station the Central Oxford office caught my eye. I thought the branding was young and trendy.
I was living in London, working for an international agent as a receptionist, but I wanted to progress within the letting industry. I hadn’t considered a move to Oxford and the plan was to stay in London. A conversation with a work colleague who was originally from Oxford and who knew Finders Keepers convinced me to give it a go so I called HR Director Maryse Davies and set up an interview.
After two interviews, one with Maryse and one with Simon Tyrrell in the East Oxford office I was offered the role of Trainee Letting Manager. I was nervous but I haven’t looked back. The job offer coincided with my friends wanting to move and believe it or not we found the perfect house, again through Finders Keepers, and even better only over the road from the office.
From the day I started I have felt welcome. I went out on viewings and got to know the roads around East Oxford, with a few wrong turns! I really enjoy qualifying applicants and then successfully suggesting suitable properties. It is so exciting to see people find and move into a property they really like.
I have also really enjoyed getting to grips with the legal and admin side of letting a property and seeing how it all comes together. As a tenant and an employee, I can see how it all works from both sides.
