Under the skin of the letting market

Here we share news and views on both the local letting market in & around Oxfordshire and all planned and recent legislation.

Finding good tenants for good homes

The recent change in weather has impacted on the number of people actively looking for property to rent near BicesterFor some letting agents this becomes a problem as there are fewer people around to take their properties. However, this is when a good letting agent comes into their own – by knowing their applicants and being able to match a great applicant to a brand new landlord’s property.

Mr & Mrs P were keen for a 2 bedroom house on Langford Village in Bicester with availability dates to tie in with the completion of the sale of their own house.  Within a few hours of getting the OK to proceed from a new landlord with just such a property, we had organised a viewing and secured a letting to start later this week.  The landlord is delighted and the tenants relieved to have sorted their living arrangements before Christmas.

We were also recently instructed on a spacious, stand alone house at Ardley.  It had been sitting empty for weeks, having been listed by another letting agent in Bicester at far too high a rent.  We advised the landlord on a more realistic rent and have now secured a long-term let to a fantastic couple. Once again, the landlord is delighted as they were thinking it would be well into January before they received any rent income.
