The carnival takes place on the second Saturday in July. The procession starts from The Leys and makes its way through the centre of Witney and back to the park, which is always packed with sideshows and stalls. The carnival was organised to have something of interest for all and includes donkey derbys, belly dancers, Irish dancing, a tug of war, face painters, etc.

Every year the village enjoys a colourful and fun-packed day. The centrepiece of the carnival is the parade, in which floats are joined by entrants for the fancy dress classes and marching bands.

The Blenheim Palace International Horse Trials has run since 1990.
