Charity of the Year 2019
Finders Keepers is delighted to announce that we have chosen Oxford Children’s Hospital Charity as our official charity partner for 2019. The new partnership will run throughout the year and we hope to raise £10,000 for the Oxford Children’s Hospital, which is based at the John Radcliffe Hospital.
The Oxford Children’s Hospital Charity funds the best medical equipment, research, training and facilities for both patients and staff. The hospital wards are very bright and happy spaces, built around the needs of children and their families, with indoor and outdoor play areas, sensory rooms and even a school on-site – all thanks to the support of the local community.
The charity is also about to fund new bedside monitors across the Children’s hospital and has also supported the building of new parent’s accommodation to help keep young patients and their families close during treatment.
Paul Rushworth, Managing Director of Finders Keepers, said: “In 2009 we decided to set up a charity of the year initiative to pool the efforts of our eight offices. We wanted to make a difference both in terms of time and money for one local charity. Every member of our team was invited to nominate a charity to support in 2019, these were then shortlisted and put out to the vote and we are delighted that the Children’s Hospital won.”
“We have already started planning our activities for 2019, with walkers and runners signing up for the OX5RUN in March and the more daring team members talking about abseiling and skydiving later in the year! Other events in the pipeline include bake sales, bucket collections and our third charity quiz night, which has proven to be extremely popular.”
Damon Boughen, Community Fundraising Manager for Oxford Hospitals Charity, said: “We are so thrilled with this fantastic news from Finders Keepers; it’s really wonderful when local companies show their support for the hospitals that serve their local community. We’re particularly delighted that Finders Keepers has kicked off their year of fundraising by entering a huge team into the Oxford Mail OX5 RUN. To have 37 people taking part is just fantastic – we think this is the biggest corporate team the event has ever had!”
We look forward to working with and supporting the Children’s Hospital throughout 2019. Let the fundraising begin! Help us to support the Children’s Hospital by donating here
