Gas Safety Week
Bricks and Mortar and Finders Keepers are pleased to announce that they will again be joining 326 other supporters in a pledge to support Gas Safety Week 2014.
With the summer coming and the prospect (or hope!) of a heat wave it is easy to forget about our boilers and gas appliances. A recent study carried out by Gas Safe revealed that you are just as likely to have carbon monoxide poisoning in the summer as in the winter as we are less likely to think about impact of carbon monoxide and to get our failing appliances check.
The study also revealed that Oxford is the 10th safest city in Great Britain, something that we at Finders Keepers want to improve on. Our aim is to make carbon monoxide alarms as common as fire alarms as they really can save a life. See this story on the Gas Safe Register website.
Carbon monoxide is a poisonous gas which can kill quickly with no warning. Carbon monoxide is an invisible killer: you can’t see it or feel it. Its symptoms include headaches, dizziness, nausea, breathlessness, collapse and loss of consciousness, and can easily be mistaken for the flu.
