We let residential property of all shapes and sizes
We are lucky to work in Oxfordshire and the surrounding counties, which has a diverse mixture of traditional and modern architecture. This marries well with the long-term and transient population and we often find the ‘perfect’ tenants for a property. Here we look at a range of the properties we let and manage.
South of Oxford in the market town of Abingdon-on-Thames, one of the best apartments in the prestigious Brew Tower should come back onto the market in March (£2,200)1. This outstanding apartment is on the site of the former Morland Brewery, just a few minutes’ walk from the town centre’s shops and restaurants. Set over two levels it has 3 double bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and a superb living space with a huge vaulted ceiling and the study/TV room could also be used as a fourth bedroom if needs be. There is off-street parking for your car, although bus links from Abingdon to Oxford are very good.
A 30 minute drive south west of Abingdon-on-Thames is the village of Childrey where a very special house is currently available to let (£2,100). The flexible layout allows 3 to 4 bedrooms and the 3 bath/shower rooms can only be described as ‘fabulous’. The must-see kitchen is open-plan to the large living area, and has doors leading to the garden at the front of the house which has a sunken terrace with tables and seating and a tiled gazebo roof. The village has a traditional shop and village pub, and the town of Wantage is less than a 10 minute drive away.
Moving to the Cotswolds, we have a magnificent 3 bedroom first floor apartment in a converted Jacobean country house available to let (£1,250). The modern, fully-equipped kitchen is separate from the wonderful reception room which has superb period features, ideal for those who like a mix of old and new. The property has an allocated parking space and wonderful communal grounds in this calm and tranquil setting.
A 20 minute drive east brings us to New Yatt, a lovely village less than 3 miles north of Witney where we manage an impressive Grade II listed farmhouse which has been renovated to a high standard, which may be re-listed in early spring (£3,750). This 6 bedroom, 5 bathroom home has four reception rooms and a large contemporary kitchen/dining room with views over open countryside making it marvellous for entertaining. There is plenty of outside space and the gravelled drive leads to parking and a stone barn/garage. Despite being in a rural setting, this property is within easy reach of Woodstock and Witney.
If you’re looking for a village with character then Hook Norton, to the west of Banbury, could be right up your street. We manage a charming 3 bedroom cottage (£995 pcm) just a 10 minute walk away from the wonderful Hook Norton Brewery and within walking distance of pubs, shops and schools. The lovely kitchen has space to dine and a gorgeous fireplace, and it leads into the light and airy living room with wood flooring and doors to the garden.
To the east of Banbury we manage a Victorian detached house (£1,100) on a private estate in Astrop. The 3 bedroom property has been considerably refurbished and has far-reaching views. The living room has dual aspect and the kitchen/breakfast room and dining room are both separate. With a mature private garden, a large shed and outhouse this property would be ideal for country lovers when it comes back on the market a little later this year.
Inside the Oxford ring road we have an exceptional penthouse apartment (£3,700). Stylishly furnished by Decorum Interiors, the living area is open-plan to the large kitchen/dining area, and the private internal lift to the 3 bedroom, 3 bathroom apartment feels very ‘James Bond’. The large balcony and roof terrace for alfresco dining have lovely views overlooking the lake in a great North Oxford location.
South of Oxford city centre we are offering an individually designed boutique-style property on a short-term basis (£3,500 including utilities, gardening and cleaning). A superbly finished ‘one-off’ 3 bedroom home which oozes style and sophistication with a stunning designer kitchen, large dining room with doors to decking and landscaped garden with 2 further reception rooms and walnut floors throughout. Rent is inclusive of utilities, gardening and cleaning for this short let close to the city centre.
Often we meet applicants who are keen to live close to their place of work or study, or close to transport links. One great example of this is in East Oxford, our team have been marketing a scheme of six 1 bedroom/studio apartments on Circus Street (£795 – £1,015) in St Clements. Ideal for a single professional, these super modern apartments are within walking distance of the city centre and close to good local shops and the London coach link. The high ceilings and large windows make the apartments feel spacious. The wooden floors and under floor heating are a super feature of these well-located properties.
Lastly, in Kidlington our North Oxford team has an outstanding 18th century traditional farmhouse (£5,995) with great character and charm. Set in a peaceful location & within easy access to London Oxford Airport & links into Oxford city centre this 5/7 bedroom family home is a real find. This flexible layout is ideal for any size of family, as the 2 ground floor bedrooms can be used as reception rooms. The traditional kitchen with Aga fits perfectly with the style of the home and with 3/4 acres of grounds and a swimming pool there is plenty of outside space for children to play.
Whether you own a studio or mansion, an apartment or a maisonette – we help landlords successfully navigate the Oxfordshire letting market.
