Under the skin of the letting market

Here we share news and views on both the local letting market in & around Oxfordshire and all planned and recent legislation.

Animal portraits and late night walks

Laura with her painting

In December last year we held our inaugural online auction for Breast Cancer Awareness. It was a great success and we raised a fantastic £1,600 for the charity. Tenants and landlords bidded on everything from a Lotus F1 factory tour to a day paintballing. One of the most popular lots was an animal portrait commision donated by a member of the Banbury team, Laura Fiddes, who, in addition to being a Letting Manager, is also a painter. Laura has recently completed the portrait and we like it so much we wanted to share it.

The auction was spearheaded by our Banbury and Bicester offices. They worked hard to collect 32 lots from generous businesses in the area. Given the success of last year’s event, we are going to hold another auction this year, so look out for more details in December.

In the meantime, an 11-strong motley crew from Finders Keepers will be taking part in this year’s London Culture Crawl. They’ll be raising money for Maggie’s Cancer Centres, our charity of the year, by walking 15-miles through London at night. They’ll be sporting glow in the dark Culture Crawl t-shirts, so look out for them if you’re in the capital. If you’re feeling charitable, or just want to find out more, visit their Just Giving page.
