Garsington Opera Pavilion, High Wycombe, Snell & AssociatesDesigned to be dismantled at the end of each season, and made from fabric, timber, and steel; this opera pavilion takes its inspiration from traditional Japanese Kabuki theatres.

It is always fascinating to see the shortlisted buildings for the RIBA awards each year (Royal Institute of British Architects).

Some bold, some provocative, some curious, some beautiful, some surprising.

Oxfordshire counts 2 of the 20 listed on the Telegraph’s website. The temporary Garsington Opera¬†pavilion¬†shown above, designed by Snell & Associates, and Shulman Auditorium in Queen’s College.

We also love number 1 on the list, a ‘floating’ seaside house.
