October in Oxford
Can you believe September is nearly over? We thought we would give you an idea of what is going on in Oxfordshire through the month of October (for full info find a copy of Arts & Events in Oxfordshire!)
If you haven’t been yet, why not visit the Pre-Raphaelites exhibition at the Ashmolean Museum? The most prominent Pre-Raphaelite painters are represented with major works which have been rarely displayed in public.
On 9th October The Mighty Wurlitzer perform for the first time at Grove House in East Oxford. They are a collection of musician’s who play up-beat and atmospheric tunes to accompany classic silent films on the big screen. It will certainly be a different evening of entertainment!
Also on the 9th is the second OX4 festival, happening across 10 venues along Cowley Road. The line up is diverse (but largely from OX postcodes) and you are sure to find something for everyone.
At the end of the month (23rd-31st October) Woodstock will host a major arts festival (Art in Woodstock). Showcasing work by visiting professional artists as well as local talent, Woodstock is transformed as galleries appear in shops, churches, restaurants and more. There will also be a ‘free expression’ art space in the town square for visitors to contribute to – so get involved!
Enjoy October and check back at the end of the month for what’s on in November.
