2) Ensure the property will provide a steady rental income.
3) Understand the running costs of the property.
A final point to consider is appointing a good letting agent and property manager. Of course we would say this, but it can be difficult to view this as an investment rather than your personal home. A successful landlord is one who is willing to take sound advice and be flexible.
