Charity Fundraising 2018
In 2018 we did not have a centralised 'Charity of the Year' and instead we encouraged our teams to organise their own fundraising events for their chosen charities and they certainly rose to the challenge:
Oxford Children's Hospital
We had a team of 22 people taking part in the OX5RUN in March. They ran (or walked!) around the five mile course at Blenheim Palace to raise funds and awareness for the Oxford Children's Hospital and they raised more than £2,089.00. Three of our team were invited to visit the hospital to see where the funds go, Sarah Carroll said "We were happy to see that the funds we raised brought such a positive impact to a wonderful cause. It's important for us here at Finders Keepers, to support a local charity."
Maggie's Cancer Caring Centres
We had a team of people taking part in the Oxford Culture Crawl this year and in order to reach their target they organised bake sales, hosted a quiz night in May (which was so popular that a second one was held in November) and even had a 'guess the baby name' sweepstake. They raised just under £2,500 for our local cancer caring centre.
Cancer Research UK
We hosted a charity dinner in Summertown's Xi'an restaurant in June. Through an array of delicious platters our guests were able to raise £180 for Cancer Research.
Sobell House Hospice
Our Senior Marketing Manager is a keen baker and organised a bake sale at her local leisure centre " "wrong audience" you might think, but people were more than happy to replace their calories and donate more than £400 to Sobell House.
Katharine House Hospice
Our Banbury Office Manager is a keen runner and set up a team to take part in the Oxford Half Marathon. The team was a mix of regular runners and more sporadic runners who enthusiastically accepted the challenge. They raised just under £1,500 for their local hospice.
