Impact from the HS2 rail link


The impact of the proposed HS2 rail link from London to Birmingham is being felt by many people already.  We have recently negotiated a tenancy of a classic detached Georgian house to a family from a village north of Aylesbury whose house is in the process of being compulsorily purchased under this scheme.  They wanted to stay in the area for schooling, so this classic detached Georgian house at Granborough was perfect.  This property has an added advantage for the family because it comes with a paddock and stabling for their horse.

As the new tenants do not need to move in immediately, we have planned some upgrade work to be completed during the void period including new flooring, a kitchen upgrade with new appliances, installation of a more efficient boiler, bathroom upgrades, and some new curtains. The Landlord returned from the Far East to agree the schedule and the works are due to start imminently. The new tenants are delighted and are hoping their rather unscheduled move will be much less unsettling than they first feared.
